Of course I love this author - Gabriel Madison - with a lovely last name such as his, how could I not?

Gabriel Madison started writing when he was in high school, mostly short stories and poetry, and then developed a passion for screenplays. He attended a private art University in Atlanta Georgia for Media Production. There he studied script writing and film making. He wrote a few screenplays, and made a few short movies, including a twelve-minute vampire movie, he adapted from a short story, called Midnight Diner. After leaving school, his passion shifted mainly towards writing stories, than shooting and directing them. He writes short stories, novellas, screenplays, graphic novels and full-length novels. He was once asked to define himself: he answered... 'storyteller'.

Angel Santos wants to be an average seventeen year old girl. That's kind of hard for a reincarnated Archangel who's hiding her powers. It gets even harder when God vanishes from Heaven and her old friends turn to her to find the last angel to see Him. Now all she has to do is stop the impending apocolypse and fend off her best friend's attempts to make herself popular. All in a week's work.

I felt him coming before he appeared in front of me. Zadkiel dropped from the ceiling of the little apartment in battle mode. His hand held a blazing sword of fire, and his armor flared a bright shade of gold. “Reapers,” Zadkiel whispered as he watched the front door.
Cherubim summoned the fire, and formed it into a battle axe as he stood beside Zadkiel. “How many?”
Zadkiel didn‘t look away from the front door, “A lot.”
Jacob slowly stood as he recovered from my blow. The man continued to lay unconscious on the floor. Both would be easily destroyed by the Reapers.
I grabbed the man on the floor and dragged him to a closet in the room. I opened the closet and quickly shoved him in, before turning to Jacob, “Your turn.”
He stood next to Cherubim as if ready to fight. I opened my mouth to speak, but Cherubim beat me to it. “No Jacob, you must join our charge in the closet. You must protect him if any Reapers get past us.”
Jacob stared at Cherubim for a moment before bowing his head and walking into the closet with the man. I closed the door, took off my silver cross I wore around my neck and wrapped it around the doorknob of the closet. It wouldn‘t keep the Reapers out, but it would slow them down.
I turned and stood beside Cherubim. The angel looked down at me with concern. “Maybe you should join Jacob in the closet? You need to survive to find Lailah.”
“Yeah, and I need the only two angels on earth I trust to survive long enough to help me find her. We‘re in this together old man.”
Cherubim laughed. “You are definitely Major General Ariel.”
Since my birth in this world, I‘d tried everything to erase who I was, but as I stood waiting for battle, Ariel flared up inside of me again, and she craved combat.
I felt the fire building in my flesh, as it flowed from my center, all the way to my right hand. I unleashed the blaze, as I mentally molded it into a sword.
We stood there, the three of us, weapons in hand, waiting for the battle to begin. I felt a serge of excitement rush through me. Ariel missed the battle. She missed the sensation of facing down her enemies in a fight to the death.

Castaway Hearts ~ Taryn Raye

Thanks for having me, Madison.

Today, for me, feels like a significant milestone because in a week, I will be a published author. I’ve been working toward this goal for quite a long time and it’s still a very surreal feeling when I think about the fact that something I’ve written will be out there in the world, available to others in a way I never imagined it would be. Sure, I dreamed of this since I was a kid, but now that the moment is upon me, I’m awestruck and nervous and wondering how often I might need to pinch myself to know it’s real.

Today I’d like to share an excerpt from my upcoming first week of April release from Turquoise Morning Press, Castaway Hearts.

Dawson sat on the edge of their bed and watched as clothing swung over the side of the screen.  First, the bridal gown went up, and then the pink nightgown disappeared behind it.

He imagined how it looked as it slipped over Catherine’s head and shimmied down over her smooth young curves. The very imagery made his pulse pound throughout his body, eager for this moment. It haunted him for months, this opportunity to view her in all her blessed glory.

Dawson kicked off his shoes and removed his jacket and the tie from around his neck. Catherine cleared her throat as he unbuttoned his shirt, which invited a gaze in her direction.

In the dim lamp light, she was the image of sensuality mingled with youth and innocence. The pink gown fluttered around her ankles and the fabric swayed with her movements. He glimpsed the silhouette of her hip and the swell of her breast through the wispy material. Her hair of flames tumbled loose and licked over her shoulders, now midway down her back. Even in the pale light, her eyes smoldered like dark sapphires when she smiled.

In one swift movement, he stood in front of her.

Slow but eager, Dawson touched her cheek with the back of his hand, her skin as soft as the gown she wore. His hand shivered down her neck and came to rest beneath one of her breasts. He cupped it in his palm with tenderness. She shuddered and took a short deep breath.

Dawson brought his lips to hers, certain her fiery hair and tender kisses would burn him alive. Lips as tender as ever, he kissed her as his hands moved over her shoulders and down her back, his tongue welcomed inside her mouth.

Her slender arms encircled his neck to tug him closer to her body.

“Oh, Dawson.”

A surge of passion flooded through him when her body melted into his and his name fell from her rich moist lips. Dawson hauled her toward the bed and kissed her as he lowered her down upon it. Nothing in his life had ever felt as right as it did at this moment with Catherine in his arms. Their bodies moved closer and he released her lips again to trail kisses down her neck while his hands traveled the length of her body.

Catherine sighed. His lips nibbled at her skin with the softest of bites, but her body trembled beneath his tender touch.

Her breasts were full and round, her nipples like tiny pink silky-covered mountains lifted toward the heavens. His hand ran further down over her hip and thigh, hungry to touch her everywhere all at once.

“You are so beautiful, Catherine.” Dawson mumbled into her neck and backed away to look into her eyes. She watched him in adoration, the purity of her desire shone in their blue depths.

When their lips met again, her hands found their way to his shoulders and down his arms across his hips.

Dawson shuddered at the warmth of her contact and caresses. Every muscle in his body tingled, his manhood full and firm from want of her. Her fingers undid the rest of the buttons on his shirt with fluid agility and then her hands crept inside to push it away from his shoulders.

Catherine’s fingers splayed over his chest and down his abdomen. His muscles rippled and flexed beneath her fingertips. Dawson caught his breath and quivered at her touch.

Review - Get a Clue by Jill Shalvis

I'm just sayin' - You've been warned!

I enjoy Jill Shalvis' writing style, and I was not disappointed. Breanne has been stood up at the alter (third time jilted in her short life) but decides to head up to the remote ski lodge she and her fiancee had planned on going to. When she gets there, the room - or shall I say the shower - is occupied by one hunky, oh-so-alpha male, Cooper.

May I pause and just say 'Yum'? Thank you - where was I?

Normally things like this would be straightened out fairly quick, but the owner is incommunicado, the staff are a little on edge, and the snowstorm of the century forces everyone to stay there - for days.
The sexual tension between Breanne and Cooper flies off the page, and we see how protective he becomes when they find the owner dead in the basement - very incommunicado.

The balance of the story is Cooper trying to determine who killed Edward, get close, really close to Breanne, and make sure no one else is hurt.

Breanne, meanwhile, is trying to NOT like Cooper, find out why she hears humming in places liked locked rooms, and keeps stumbling across blood soaked evidence.

Now - here's the reason I only gave this story 4 stars.

I really, really, really wanted the bad guy to be Breanne's lousy fiancee. I wanted this whole dump you at the alter, send you on the lonely honeymoon, to be a nefarious plan on the part of her ex so that he could grab her Palm Pilot (which he told he he'd done illegal transactions on) and he was the one who killed Edward (because Edward was in on it).

I didn't buy who Ms. Shalvis wrote killed Edward. (I won't spoil this too much by telling you who) It felt like it had been a quick fix. If the mystery had pulled me in a little deeper, I would have slapped a ten star on this book (if I could)

I'm sorry Jill Shalvis - you know I love your books!

Today's Coven Feature is my very own According to Plan. For fun, I thought I'd tell you the history of my debut novel.

It actually started out as Shelby's Legacy- complete with a trapped fourteenth century laird in a mirror and Tank was the ne'er-do-well boyfriend brought in to heighten the tension between Shelby and Liam.

Manuscript completed, I sent it off to The Wild Rose Press and they rejected it. (rightfully so - it really was terrible) However, the editor, Karen, liked the interaction between Shelby and Tank - not so much Liam.

So - the manuscript evolved into Shelby's Dilema as Shelby tried to figure out which man she should be with. Once again the astute editor said no, and listed reasons.

          1. Liam, the cheeky bastard, was too much of a distraction.
          2. Liam needed his own book.
          3. Focus on the love story between Shelby and Tank.

I should have known. Tank claimed Shelby right from the start, and nothing stood in his way.

When According to Plan was ready to be launched, I once again queried this wonderful woman who'd taken the time to give me direction in my writing, but she'd retired. I didn't have the same rapport with the new editor who replaced her. I believe her exact words were to 'quit flogging a dead horse'. Then my friend M.K. Ethridge pointed me in the direction of another publishing house called Turquoise Morning Press.

Can I say - The Rest Is History?

What do you do when things don't go According to Plan? For starters, you trick, deceive, and lie to the very person who ruined your best laid plans.

Welcome to the world of Shelby Stewart, Private Investigator, who's been hired to find Harrison Grant. To complicate matters further, her ex-partner, ex-lover, ex-everything Tank shows up looking for Harrison as well, albeit for a very different reason.

Harry is the prime suspect in the grisly murder of a call girl, Lulu, in L.A. That wouldn't be so bad, but Tank plans on staying at Shelby's house, and makes it obvious he's quite willing to help her heat the sheets, again. Shelby knows that sex with Tank is dangerous, fast, and sometimes a little dirty. Now is not the time to become side-tracked. Besides, this job could launch her company into a whole new stratosphere, so it's imperative she remain focused.

Frustration becomes Shelby's newest partner as she makes plans to out maneuver Tank in their parallel quest. Tank, on the other hand, is always one step ahead of the game--and is not what, or who, Shelby thought.
